An Air Force Veteran and Registered Nurse’s Journey To Build A Medical Device Company For His Patients with Brian Mohika, Founder of CathWear
Can't believe I forgot to send this one!
Dear Bunker,
Last week on the Transition, I interviewed Air Force Veteran Brian Mohika, Founder of Cathwear, a medical device company that produces medical underwear designed for patients with leg bags, removing the use of the velcro straps and improving quality of life for patients.
As a Registered Nurse with degrees in radiology and nursing, Brian kept noticing how embarrassed and uncomfortable bag legs left patience feeling. He came up with a patent to create what became Cathewear, launching the company a few years later to bring their products to market. Like so many of us along this entrepreneurial journey, Brian’s journey hasn’t been without its fair share of setbacks. Alcoholism, drug addiction, and bad business partners are just some of the many obstacles that Brian’s had to overcome.
On the show, he opens up about his successes and failures, including the fallout with his business partners, the importance of employing his family and those in his community, and why he entrepreneurs not to give up, no matter bad things may seem.
