Dear Bunker,

Thanks for reading The Transition ! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work.

Last night I couldn’t sleep, my mind was too busy chasing greatness (Joking). But in all seriousness, I had some thoughts on my mind about what it takes to achieve flawless acceleration, so I took out my note pad and wrote them down.

See, Gary V and other “pop-culture entrepreneurs” will tell you that you need to work harder, sacrifice, and occasionally post 100 videos a day if you want to grow your business. I think that’s b.s.

Real success takes discipline and working on your business, not just in it.

“Mike we hear you, but wtf does that even mean?”

It means instead of fulfilling orders, posting on social media, and doing client delivery, carve out some time to work on The Keys To Flawless Acceleration listed below:

  1. Set your company’s vision & get it on paper. You don’t have to make it too complicated, in the words of Simon Sinek, “Start with why.” State why you exists and who you serve. If it’s not on paper, it doesn’t exist.

  2. Write out your personal plan and where you see yourself in 1, 3, and 25 years. Start in the future and work your way backwards. You need to know where your company’s going, but also where you’re headed as well.

  3. Build your company’s operating system, leveraging Objectives & Key Results, The Entrepreneurial Operating System, or something you come up with yourself. If you need an example, just email and I’ll send you mine. It’s called One Badass Year.

  4. Set your cadence of accountability and a scoreboard to track your progress. Get your businesses work week down on paper, as if someone could run it without you.

  5. Focus on Kaizen- consistent and incremental improvement over time.

Real hard work is working on the above, not making TikTok videos. I’ll go into more detail in next weeks podcasts, I just thought I’d share with you all what’s on my mind. I’m curious to hear your thoughts.

Last thing, I have another email coming your way tomorrow, so be on the lookout and don’t leave me in spam.
